2011 Watervale Riesling 375ml

Riesling is the Clare Valley’s signature variety and this is our fourth vintage from clos Clare’s Riesling patch, adjoining the historic ‘Florita’ vineyard in Watervale.  The 41-year-old dry grown vines were hand-harvested on the 13th and 14th of March and taken to The Wilson Vineyard at Polish Hill River, where they were chilled for 24 hours prior to whole bunch pressing and vinification.  This 2011 Watervale Riesling is a handcrafted wine that shows poise, elegance and character, which is indicative of this vineyard. The nose displays lifted apple blossom and mandarin aromas. The palate has clarity, backbone and persistence, with a finish complemented by zingy acidity. Patience and bottle maturation will reward you with secondary characteristics of honey and warm buttered toast.
